Chick-fil-A, the Atlanta-based fast food chain with 3,000 locations across 48 states, has confirmed that it will open its first Berkshire County location at 232 Stockbridge Road — the southeast corner of Route 7 and Fairview Terrace in Great Barrington, and the former site of crafts shop Wonderful Things.
Given the square footage constraints of the site, the outlet will operate as a drive-thru-only location. Groundbreaking is expected in early May, with a projected opening date of November 12, 2026.
In its announcement, Chick-fil-A’s Northeast regional development director called Great Barrington “a natural fit” for the brand, citing seasonal visitor volume, proximity to Tanglewood and other cultural destinations, and what he described as “a community that shares our commitment to quality, hospitality, and purpose-driven dining solutions.”
In an even more surprising development, the chain will not be going it alone.
