My regular evening walks with my dog take me past LifeWorks on Castle Street, just as classes are ending. People of all ages emerge carrying yoga mats, laughing and lingering in conversation before heading home. For years, I assumed I knew what happened inside.
But after spending an hour with founder Ilana Singer Siegal, I realized I’d mistaken the doorway for the destination. What looked like a traditional yoga studio turned out to be something much harder to define.
That became clear within minutes of our conversation when I asked what seemed like a straightforward question: Was LifeWorks her primary work?
